We headed West in my little red Mustang, the car loaded down with camera gear and snacks.\u00a0 After a quick sleep in the parking lot of a rest stop in Kansas and several hours of driving, mountains arose out in the distance, my heart swelled.\u00a0 As we got closer and closer to our destination, a cabin in Estes Park, we climbed higher and higher through winding roads.\u00a0 We arrived at our cabin in the afternoon and stepped out to the sounds of a nearby babbling creek and then, the sound of a lone elk off in the distance.\u00a0 It didn’t take long for me to realize Colorado is magical. <3<\/p>\n\"Colorado-041\"\n

Day one we were so excited we rose before the sun.<\/p>\n\"Colorado-001\"\n\"Colorado-022\"\n\"Colorado-028v\"\n\"Colorado-023\"\n\"Colorado-038\"\n

Probably my favorite photo and view of the day.\u00a0 We went up a bit further, as the fog got thicker and thicker and we ended up behind a pack of Model Ts (no joke) we decided to make the descent down to finish the day of adventure.<\/p>\n\"Colorado-014\"\n\"Colorado-040v\"\n

Day two: a day of hiking.\u00a0 We saw waterfall on the list of options and set out to find it, Alberta Falls.<\/p>\n\"c9-11\"\n

Found a buddy on the trail, <3 the little snow falling around.<\/p>\n\"Colorado-005\"\n\"Colorado-039v\"\n

I was so excited when a fellow hiker knew how to operate a DSLR camera and was so kind to take our photo at the top.\u00a0 It’s not often we are on the other side of the lens, this is cherished.\u00a0 If you’re out there, thanks hiking friend!<\/p>\n\"Colorado-008\"\n\"Colorado-013\"\n

Checking out Estes Park’s famous Stanley Hotel that inspired the movie “The Shining”.<\/p>\n\"Colorado-039\"\n

My mountain man, he fit in so well with the natives. <3<\/p>\n\"Colorado-040\"\n

Guanella Pass, a beautiful winding pass through the mountains with many changing scenes and temperatures.<\/p>\n\"Colorado-015\"\n\"Colorado-018\"\n\"Colorado-020\"\n\"Colorado-019\"\n\"Colorado-017\"\n\"Colorado-028\"\n\"Colorado-030\"\n\"Colorado-031\"\n\"Colorado-009\"\n\"Colorado-016\"\n

Kind of bummed that I didn’t take more city pictures, but I kind of like that one was of “Duffy’s” Cherry Cricket restaurant in Denver.<\/p>\n\"Colorado-026v\"\n

Last day trip out of Denver, to Garden of the Gods.<\/p>\n\"Colorado-033\"\n\"Colorado-050v\"\n\"c44-46\"\n
