Married | Kelsey & Joe

It’s amazing how many different ways I get to know my brides; some find me on the internet, some hear about me from friends, while a few others are friends I’ve known a long while.  Kelsey is one of those I’ve known since elementary school.  We had girl scouts together,  played on some of the same volleyball and softball teams, had numerous sleepovers throughout elementary and middle school, the list could go on and on about our friendship over the years.  Now when we hang out it’s a little different from our goofy middle school days, we have dinner parties and our men share opinions on the latest beer they’ve tried ;).  I am so incredibly thankful to have had Kelsey in my life for so long; she is kind, funny, beautiful, and has been one of my biggest cheerleaders since starting photography.  Seeing her around her Joe, I see a woman who’s still that same fun- loving girl I’ve always known, but with a special glow.  A glow that shows when two people bring out the best in each other and love each other unconditionally.  I’m so happy my friend has found her forever love, cheers to many more happy years to our friends Kelsey & Joe!  Now guys, what’s on the menu for our next dinner night?! 🙂

Kelsey & Joe held their 1920’s- themed wedding at Larimore House Plantation in St. Louis.  They incorporated a few science details into their vintage wedding (Joe is getting his doctorate in biology y’all!) with many of the details being handmade by Kelsey; score for having smart, creative friends!

First looks are so awesome.  If you’re considering one, let these be of help.

Great capture by my husband, Beau.

Another from Beau.

Another image by Beau, he knows how to make a wife proud 🙂

Personal | Happenings

I just wanted to drop by the blog today as I am feeling very blessed and blown away by the support and love I have received since starting photography.  Over these past couple of years, I would not be where I am without the awesome clients that saw something in me and decided to have their portrait or wedding photographed by me, I am so grateful to every single one you.  I also owe so much to some wonderful photographers that have allowed me to second shoot with them, ask them questions, even become friends with them 🙂  I am so amazed.

My wedding calendar for 2013 is filling up quicker than ever and I am sooo excited and honored to have been asked to photograph a wedding in Key West, Florida next year.  I’m not posting this to brag, I even thought about not doing so because talking about myself always feels a bit awkward.  But I decided to post because I want to be fair to brides that may be thinking about photography.  I take a limited amount of weddings per year, please don’t wait to drop me an email if you are interested in talking more about photography, meeting and chatting over some yummy tea or warm cocoa.  I do not claim to know everything about photography.  I still have more to learn, that’s what keeps me excited and makes me push harder.  I invite you to join this journey with me, keep exploring, have fun, be curious, whatever that means for you in your life.  And if you like photographs, heck, let’s make some together and see what kind of fun we can have while doing so 😀

Married | Jessie & Brandon

What a treat it was to photograph Jessie & Brandon’s beautiful wedding held on her family’s property.  Complete with lots of DIY details, her grandpa’s old Chevy truck, and super sweet moments between Jessie & Brandon, the country girl inside of me was overcome with excitement all day.

I still have some dates open from January 2013-May 2013, I am offering an off-season discount to brides who want to fill some of these dates with me.  If your wedding day falls in that time frame, I’d love to hear from you and talk details about your wedding day!  You can use the contact tab at the top of the blog or shoot me an email to alisonduffyphoto@gmail.com.  And even if your wedding day doesn’t fall in that time, I’d still love to hear from you! 🙂  I have already booked several weddings for summer and fall 2013, and even dates in 2014!  It’s always a bummer when I have to tell brides their date is booked, but the sooner we can talk the better chance we will both be all smiles, and you will have the peace of mind of having a fun, unique approach to your wedding images.  ***

Married | Jennie & Mike

This is the third time I’ve had the honor and fun of photographing Jennie & Mike and I’d say their gorgeous wedding day takes the prize.  The ceremony was held at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica downtown where we had plenty of time to take photos around the city before heading to their reception at Bear Creek Golf Club. I am so glad to have had Beau along too, he captured some great images that make me super proud to have him as my husband and second shooter 🙂

Jennie & Mike are such a fun and easy going couple, but I had no idea they have serious musical skills too, until their reception.  Complete with a live band, Jennie & Mike took the stage for a couple of songs towards the end of the reception that kept the party going.  Beau and I had such a great time capturing this stunning day and rocking out to songs performed by the band and Jennie & Mike.  I can’t thank these two enough for supporting me as long as they have and asking us to document their special day.  How lucky are we to have clients and friends that are rock stars?!  Congrats Jennie & Mike, here’s to many more years of love and rock n’ roll together!

Married | Cassidy & Zach

Surrounded by their loved ones, Cassidy and Zach said I do at Trinity Lutheran Church in Soulard and continued the celebrations in the Statler Ballroom at The Renaissance Grand downtown.  There isn’t much I can add that the photos don’t already tell for themselves; tears of joy, lots of fun and dancing, a gorgeous reception, the list could go on and on.  Above all, Cassidy and Zach stole the show with their apparent love for one another and their families.

What an honor and treat to be a part of this wonderful wedding, thank you so much Cassidy and Zach for having me document and share in your joy.  Here is to many many more years of happiness together!
